On September 11, Bob will address the audience at the Healing Fields. His presentation will be memorializing the 2,996 who fell in 2001, and he will be honoring Tim Chambers, The Saluting Marine who “strengthens mankind’s bond.”
On September 20, Bob, with Director Will Humble of the Arizona Depart of Health Services, will receive the US Vision Award for their work in extending clinical excellence in new CPR practice and Cardiac Arrest Dispatch/Bystander Intervention, by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). The Award will be presented by the Center for Disease Control.
From September 23 through 27, we will attend the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting. Our commitments, current and future to CGI, include our worldwide Cardiac Save Rate Commitment, our pending EMS Telemedicine Commitment, and our pending Affordable Sustainable Neighborhood Commitment.
On October 10, together with TCAA and the City of Tempe, we will again present World Homeless Day educational and hosting events to honor and to help our homeless neighbors.
Then, on October 16, the Tempe Community Council will honor Kerry Fetherstone as our Don Carlos award recipient and they will honor the Foundation with the Guiding Light award. We have several tables available.
On October 17, we will again meet and confer with City Councilmembers Honorable Corey Woods and Honorable Kolby Granville about building a sustainable neighbor in Tempe.
On October 24, the Anti/Defamation League will present their annual Torch of Liberty award to David Bodney, and during this centennial celebration ADL will also honor Bob and Jenny with the Al Brooks Community Service award.
On October 25, we will present TCAA’s annual First Crush fundraiser at the Tempe Center for the Arts. The
Tempe Community Action Agency, co-founded by Jenny’s mom in 1966, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves low-income families, children, seniors and the homeless for more than 40 years in the East Valley. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the underserved in our community.
Details will be revealed later regarding November’s annual Thanksgiving Eve interfaith services, December’s annual memorial for the homeless, as well as ringing the Salvation Army bell.
