Educating the Marginalized

(page under construction, to keep you informed about:)

Our endowments at Life Pacific College, where Jenny serves on the Board of Trustees, serve the Latino students via the Cesar Chavez Scholarship, African-American students via the John Perkins Social Justice Grant, and feminist students via the Aimee Semple McPherson Scholarship, which is being developed into the Aimee Semple McPherson Center for Social Justice.

Our endowments at Arizona State University serve the under-represented communities of women, seeking credentials in theology and in justice, as well as LGBT students, seeking knowledge of gender issues.

Those who are adult re-entry students and/or marginalized students within the LGBT communities are offered funding each year toward community college studies, through the Norton Memorial Fund and the Out and Up Endowment.

Each year (for the past twenty years) fifteen graduating seniors from the Tempe Union HIgh School District receive funds toward their continuing education, based on financial need, diversity, or desire for theological/philosophical or vocational studies.

The Phoenix Union High School Foundation searches for graduating seniors who also attended Murphy and Murphy 2, and award three selected students each Spring, funded by The Bob Ramsey-Art Hamilton fund, who will enter fields that serve the underrepresented.  Bob and The Honorable Art Hamilton, former Arizona State Legislator and State House Minority Leader, grew up together, and continue together to serve their young friends in their neighborhood of origin.
